Why are we so vulnerable to fake news? And why is it hard to resist the temptation of social media?  How are we so easily manipulated by fear?And why is it so easy to polarize certain situations and create tensions between various groups?

The answer to these questions lies in the way our brains are developed.

Join Margriet Sitskoorn, professor of clinical neuropsychology at the University of Tilburg, as she demonstrates how the information-processing part of the brain is not always in sync with how the world provides us with this information. She will show us how this misalignment can eventually lead to both personal and global issues.

During the online talk, we will explore exactly how our brain can be manipulated. So be aware! Sitskoorn will help you experience how easy it is to hack your brain, and how organisations, fellow humans, media and politicians use - and abuse – this skill.

However, Sitskoorn will also explain how we can defend ourselves against brain-hacking, and how we can ‘update our brain’ in order to be better equipped for today’s world.
